The green shift is gaining momentum:

Now the Trønder and Meråker railway is being electrified – Comrod supplies composite poles.

For the first time since the “Dovrebanen” (1970), a railway section in Trøndelag is now being electrified. The electrification of the Trønder and Meråker railway line means more modern and environmentally friendly trains, better comfort and greater capacity. In addition, it ensures a sustainable journey across the border to Sweden..

Comrod Utility Systems and Jerol contribute to the project by supplying composite poles to Tensio AS, which is the power grid owner in the area. Poles up to 23 meters in length have been designed – the Jerol poles are primarily used for lengths under 16 metres, while poles over 16 meters are produced by Comrod at Tau. The technical department at Comrod assisted the power grid owner with the choice of poles and optimized with performance and cost in focus. With the new poles, Tensio will lift existing power lines to free up space for the new catenary lines for the trains.

In addition to delivering the masts, Comrod also provides support for initial assembly.

– We always assist our customers the first time they install our masts and ensure that they are installed correctly and in line with the manuals. “Right the first time” ensures the customer’s use of our products. In addition, we meet many skilled fitters who are really “hands on” with our products. Getting feedback and suggestions for improvement “straight from the root” is of inestimable importance to us, emphasizes Vegard Bjørnsen, operations manager at Comrod.

The customers also get a “face” and contact surface towards Comrod – this means that the threshold for making contact is low. Interaction and sharing of experiences is the key for the green shift to be successful, continues Vegard. – It’s a win-win for all parties!
